· Infrastructure

The campus was recently shifted from S.B. Road to the Viman Nagar campus and the constructed and effective building is huge, although it is not a funky campus or anything. There is a ‘Gyan Gallery’ as well where you can see people aggressively practice for their moots. Pretty simple, and you can even say kind of boring but the campus life is pretty great. There is no hostel for boys, and even for girls it is not compulsory to live in the college hostel.

The library is not extravagant but has everything you may need. It has an attached reading hall which is a very good study spot.

· Academics and Faculties

SLS has set up six centers of Specialization in Public Law & Governance, Private Laws, Transnational & Global Legal Studies, Corporate Laws, Justice Education and Technology & Innovation Laws, to promote research activities. Under these centers of Specialization, research projects are being carried out, such as Community Legal Care, Legal aid activities, Microsoft IPR Chair, Prisoner’s Rights, Law Reform Projects on Common Property with NLSIU, Bangalore & Compensation for rape victims with National Commission for Women alongside supportive research for Law Commission of India. IPC handbook, book research on Feminist Jurisprudence, Legal Regulation of Biotechnology and Educational Laws are other initiatives.

The faculties of every subject range from Average to very good, depending upon the luck of the individuals as well (sometimes a class gets better faculties than others). However, they are all helpful not just regarding the course but also regarding extra-curricular and co-curricular activities. In fact, every student is assigned one faculty member as a mentor who guides through every problem a student comes across.

· Administration and Fee Structure

Fee structure is slightly expensive with Rs. 2,35,000 for the current batch, but it is easily loan-able. But also keep in mind that there may be a 5% increase in the fee with every passing year.

· Cafeteria

The college canteen- SymbiEats serves a lot of dishes, having an expansive menu. The dishes are all reasonably priced. There is a juice centre, Café Coffee Day corner and a Korean food corner as well.

· Student Culture and Activities

The students of Symbiosis Law School, Pune, started Symbhav – a Cultural Fest in February 2009 followed by an edition in 2010. Since its inception in 2009, it has had the participation of 20 teams from all over the country and SAARC nations including leading national law schools and a sponsorship of Rs. 10 Lakhs. In 2010, the fest grew bigger with a sponsorship of Rs. 15 Lakhs and a participation of 15 outstation teams and 200 participants.2011 saw Symbhav gather a sponsorship of Rs. 42 Lakhs in cash and Rs. 9 Lakhs in kind. Symbhav’11 ran literary, legal events, music, arts and sports. It has continued this tradition with the latest Symbhav taking place in 2020, with the theme ‘Quantum Leap to the Future’.

· Placement

Companies like Wipro, L&T etc. are prominent recruiters who offer plush packages. In 2019, Wipro offered placement to six 5th year students who attained a package of Rs. 11 lacs/annum + bonus up to 2 lacs. Then, ICICI Bank is a regular recruiter and this year the highest package offered by them was Rs. 14 lacs + bonus upto 1.5 lacs. Law firms like SAM, CAM, AZB Partners, Khaitan and Co., Luthra and Luthra etc. are regular recruiters too.

· Best Thing

The best thing about SLS is the extra-curricular and co-curricular activities which are actually the soul of SLS - Pune and there are various cells which operate and carry out all kinds of activities possible. The mindset of the faculties and even the students who come here is very liberal from what I've come across, and people do not hesitate to speak up for what is wrong. The institution is headed by a Woman, so you can assume that there is hardly any gender discrimination. The student Council is an active committee and is completely managed by students.

· Worst Thing

Only thing you might regret at SLS is studying some subjects that are not directly related to your law knowledge as the faculties for them are really monotonous so you will not feel like attending any of those useless classes. Apart from that there are frequent administrative issues, however that is an inevitability owing to the volume of students.
