Punjab School of Law has been located at one corner of the University. There is a lot of greenery and a park near the department. The building of the department is not catchy and looks like an old government building. It is a two storey building. On the ground floor there are two class rooms and one administration office and the office of head of the Department. On second floor it has other classrooms and a moot court room along with the respected teacher’s room and a law library. Class rooms are not maintained as per the recent technology. Earlier there were black boards but now they have installed a projector in moot court room and white board in the classes.

A library is the most prominent asset of a law school. This department has one library on the first floor of the building. Books in the library have been updated as per the requirements. Students have access to the newspaper in 3 languages as prominent in North and law magazines. More liberal provisions are provided to the students coming from backward class as they can retain a book for 6 month to promote the access to education to them while others for a maximum of 10 days (keep on changing). If one require any book which is not available then that requirement is fulfilled as soon as possible. It not only contains books reading law subjects but also on other aspects like Economics, History, Sociology, Language, Political Science and many more.

There is no specified hostel provided by the Department. Hostels in the university are provided to the students of the department on the merit basis. Moreover girl’s hostel is not far from the department while boy’s hostel is on the opposite side of the department. In the university hostels are allotted according to the requirement and if possible near to the respective departments of the students.

  • Academics and Faculties

Focus is made on the academics of the students at great level. There are strict provisions regarding the attendance. Curriculum of the course is prepared keeping in mind all the aspects dealing with law. More theoretical work is made to be done. Department includes compulsory moot court competition among the students of the department from the 4th year of the course and also one day in a week is fixed for court visit where a group of 10 students are assigned to one lawyer. They have to prepare a court diary at the end. Teachers are hardworking and focus more on theoretical work. They communicate in the language understandable to all the students coming from different regions.

  • Administration and fee structure

Fee structure is divided in two parts. Backward class students are exempted from the Tuition fees. Being a university getting grants from the government, fee for the courses are lenient and affordable.

  • Cafeteria

Department does not have its own cafeteria. But in the university there are very options for good food.

  • Student culture and activities

Students are less active in matter of competitions. Department does not organise law events in the department frequently. It is one the worst thing of the department. Although over the past few years some events like conferences and intra moot competition are organised to sensitise students towards socio- legal issues and practical moot problems.

  • Placement

no placement cell in the department which work actively. No company came for placements here.

  • Worst thing
