LAW SCHOOL REVIEW: NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY, NAGPUR
· BRIEF INTRODUCTION
National Law University is at its nascent stage yet has been able to embellish the achievements as of any other top NLU. Being in the central city of India, Nagpur, which has blessed the nation with great Chief Justices of India and various other legal experts in the field, NLU Nagpur has a locational advantage for those who wish to join the bar at their graduation. With top visionaries and well-founded faculty with extremely hard-working students at the forefront, NLU Nagpur satisfies the tag it has been attributed of, that is to say, of a National law University.

A. Campus- The University contains all basic amenities that a law school should have. These include a moot court hall, a library, well-furnished classrooms, a computer lab, multi-utility hall and most importantly, a mess area.
B. Library- The library is comparatively less spacious as compared to the other established law schools, yet constant efforts by the vice-chancellor and the library committee has helped the students to be acquainted with most useful books and journals as required by the students from time to time. Many legal experts have contributed their section of books from their personal library for its effective usage by the students.
C. Hostel- The students stay at a housing society, which is about 3 km away from the university campus. Nonetheless, the hostel-cum-society is very spacious, equipped with a gymnasium, a volley ball ground, a large dining area and a beautiful temple. The festivities are enjoyed by the students along with the faculty members who reside in the same building and the other residents. The hostel rooms are 2bhk and 3bhk flats with a kitchen, bathrooms and a hall.
D. Cafeteria- There is no separate cafeteria in the university, but one at the hostel.
· ACADEMICS AND FACULTIES
The University follows a two-semester pattern for one academic year, where each semester is further subdivided into four parts; mid-semester, end-semester, project submission and class presentation. Each semester consists of 5 subjects, and students are encouraged to take extra credit courses provided by distinguished legal practitioners and those from academia. The university follows a semester break also which enables students to have a practical experience of the knowledge gained throughout the semester.
The University is blessed with a faculty of top national law schools, other private law schools, and some research associates. They indulge students in quality teaching and learning experience using modern teaching techniques. The Vice-Chancellor of the University Dr. Vijender Kumar is also recipient of the ‘Best Teacher Award’ by the Government of Telangana.
· ADMINISTRATION AND FEE STRUCTURE
There are two councils in place- a general council and executive council, which ensures effective administration of the university. The students are also encouraged to have maximum participation in the decision making process and their views are thus represented by various student committees.
The fee structure can be found at the university website, and the tuition fees increases at a rate of 5% per year.
· STUDENT CULTURE AND ACTIVITIES
The students take part in the annual cultural and sports fest organized by the university, and also bring laurels by taking active participation in national inter-university cultural and sports fests organized by top law schools. NLU Nagpur, at such a nascent stage since its establishment has been able to organize the national rounds of Louis M. Brown and Forrest S. Mosten International Client Consultation Competition, 2019. The moot culture of the university is evident through its achievements at various national and international moot court competitions.
The first batch of the university has not yet graduated, so no placement on record till date, but some students have received PPOs from law firms.

Life at NLU which includes a holistic development of the student is the best thing.

Lack of experience since the university is only 4 years old.
