· NAME OF THE INSTITUTION:
Non-Governmental Organization ‘Shilp Srajan Sanstha’. The NGO is situated in 2/25 Jawahar Nagar, Jaipur, Rajasthan. Shilp Srajan Sanstha, founded by Ms. Shilpa Shah is a non-profit NGO that works for the betterment of the children, women and elderly people from underprivileged and poor backgrounds of the society.
· NAME OF THE INTERN, COLLEGE AND YEAR:
Surabhi Katare, a first-year student at Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur.
The duration of the internship was one month.
· APPLICATION DETAILS WITH CONTACTS:
The knowledge of the internship opportunity was shared to me by a friend after which I applied for the internship via a Google form. The team, sometime later, contacted me asking for some documents after which my internship was confirmed.
· FIRST DAY FORMALITY:
Since the mode of the internship was online, there were no first day formalities to be done; everything they needed had already been submitted.
· MAIN TASK:
It was a wholesome experience of practical work of an NGO that included a varied range of tasks from trivial management issues to co-operating with Multi- National organization. I have had the privilege to learn about how an NGO funds its projects with the aid of companies spending their Corporate Social Responsibility funds. I was given the task of preparing a proposal about the then ongoing project of the NGO after which I had the task of drafting some other formal documents and co-operating with the companies.
· WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PEERS:
The group had a couple more interns from different law colleges across India all of who were co-operative, sincere and diligent. They were all really friendly which made the working experience much better and easier. The internships coordinators were also calm and considerate. This helped me learn better and work on my full capacity all throughout the internship period.
The internship was a voluntary non-payable work.
· BEST THING:
For me, the best aspect of the internship was the fact that I got to know about the working of an NGO. The other thing that has been amazing is that I learnt to work in a team. It was the first time I worked on the same task as others as a team which was not as easy as it seems.
· WORST THING:
One thing that could have been more is the amount of work assigned to us. Though, in no way was the work less, but there were times when we had to sit idle waiting for replies which killed time and helped in no productivity.
· OFFICE TIMING:
The timings were flexible and convenient and sufficient amount of time was given to complete the work assigned to us. Nonetheless, most work was done during working hours between 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. But summing up, the internship was a good experience that has helped me grow my horizons of knowledge and work and enabled me to meet other like-minds as me.
