· Application Process
The application process is very simple. Application for Internship can be filled in the in two phases i.e. during summer and winter.
1. In summer: Application can be filled in the month of May.
2. In winter: Application can be filled in the month of November.
PSHRC starts the internship program in the month of June in summer and in the month of December or January in winter.

Interns have to submit the following details in order to fill the application for internship.
§ Copy of 10th and 12th mark sheet.
§ College ID proof.
§ Reason for joining PSHRC.
§ Recommendation letter from the head of the department.
§ Latest C.V.
§ Passport size photograph.
These details can be sent via e-mail (pshrc.chd [at] gmail.com) or personally at sector 34-a Chandigarh. After selection interns are invited to join the commission on the particular state.
· First Day Formalities, Initial Impressions, Infrastructure
Being a law student has to maintain proper discipline and decorum inside the Commission as well as in the Courtroom. Have to be in the proper uniform. We were guided meticulously about our jobs. One the first day were asked to mark our attendance & then each and every intern introduced themselves and were informed about working of the Human rights commission. We got a chance to meet the Hon’ble Chairperson as well as the members of OHRC. And Presently the Chairperson is Justice Iqbal Ahmed Ansari. Hon’ble Justice Iqbal Ahmed Ansari has joined as Chairperson Punjab State Human Rights Commission on 01.08.2017 for full term of five years.
· Main Tasks
The main task over there was to read the files which contained different matters of violation of Human Rights. Practical Knowledge was also given as we were allowed to see the proceedings. From where we come to know how a matter is presented. Before the matter was presented the facts of the case was told to us and the related provision was explained and also what kind of right is violated that was been explained.
At first, we were divided into different groups with each group consisting of 9-10 members. Our main tasks were to read the complaint received by the commission. After a thorough reading, we had to analyze whether the complaint was within the jurisdiction & according to that, we had to put a form. On the complaint. Green form if the complaint was within the jurisdiction, link form if the complaint is being received for the second time. Apart from that, we had really informative defeats discussions. On the current issues, case laws etc. In the end, two were given research work for 2 weeks.
· Working environment & People
The work environment was quite relaxed. People were good and collaborative.
· Good things
§ Refreshment is provided two times and different snack and Tea are providing by PSHRC.
§ Fully air-condition
§ PPT lecture are provided.
§ The best thing for me is to gain knowledge from the great officers in PSHRC.
§ Here surrounding as well as the employees of the Commission is good.
§ The Chairperson and the members always encourage us to read and ask the questions if we have any. All are friendly and help us when we need.
· Bad things
Nothing bad. As it is said that all well that ends well!! So the journey of the internship was good.
· Office timings
Monday to Friday from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM
As I am a localite so during the internship days, I went back to my home by local transportation.
· Other Info
It provides overall a good experience to closely witness the functioning and to understand the powers of PSHRC. If anyone who is passionate and interested to work in the field of Human rights then, they must try to take up the opportunity to work here.
