The internship was carried out at the conference hall of the commission which was nicely-built. It was fully air-conditioned and spacious. The interns were divided into two batches each consisting of around 60 interns.

  • Application procedure.

The Commission issues notification on its website regarding the internship programme. Interns have to submit the following details in order to fill the application for internship .

1. Copy of 10th and 12th mark sheet .

2. Latest CV.

3. Reason for joining PSHRC.

These details can be sent via e-mail ( ) or personally at their office located in Sector 34-A Chandigarh. After selection the interns are invited to join the commission on a particular date.

  • Accommodation:

I took an accommodation at a pg in Sector 35-C. The accommodation was decent. One should try to find accommodation as soon as the internship is confirmed because Sector-34 is full of coaching institutes and people book accommodation in advance.

First impression. First day, formalities etc.

On the very first day, we were welcomed by Mr. Rohit Chatrath and Anjana Mam. Rohit Sir is an amazing person who makes you feel extremely comfortable and working as well during the entire internship programme. He acquainted us with the working of Commission and then there was a test. Don’t worry it's just an open book test. Next day we were divided into groups for further tasks.

  • Main tasks

First few days we were given some sample cases and we had to decide whether a particular case falls under the jurisdiction of the commission. Then after few days, we were provided with real cases to segregate them as cognizable or non-cognizable with appropriate reasons by attaching appropriate forms with it.

We had discussions, debates and group- presentations which were extremely good and enriching.

We were also asked to find out suo-motu cases from various newspapers. We were also provided decided cases to study them thoroughly and Rohit Sir personally supervises all these tasks. After 2 weeks of work at the Commission, we were assigned research work and the task of EACH ONE TEACH TEN.

  • Work environment

The internship co-ordinators were extremely generous and helpful especially Rohit Sir. He guides you really well. My group was also nice. The other staff at the commission was also friendly and helpful. Anjana Mam was also very nice.

  • Bad things

It is really hard to dig out something bad about this internship: the only thing I would say is that non-Punjabi interns face a little bit difficulty in reading the complaints.

  • Anything else you'd like to tell

Take this internship seriously to get the best out of it. It is really good for first year students.
